Jimmermania is returning to Sacramento this fall.
On Monday, the Sacramento Kings announced the return of the 3×3 International Cup at Golden 1 Center on Sunday, Oct. 1. Former Sacramento King Jimmer Fredette, a member of the US FIBA 3×3 team, is expected to appear at the event.
Teams involved will play on a compact halfcourt (36’ by 49’) with a 12-second shot clock. The games end at either the 10-minute mark or whichever team reaches 21 points first. A cash prize and a spot on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour are up for grabs, too.
“The 3×3 International Cup showcases the excitement, electricity and entertainment of 3×3 basketball, and we are proud to be hosting it again this year,” Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart in the team’s press release. “We are excited to make Sacramento a must stop on the 3×3 tour displaying the competition and incredible skill of the games.”
Tickets for the 3×3 International Cup are on sale now and start at $20.

Fredette was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks but was quickly traded to the Sacramento Kings in a three-team deal that included the Charlotte Bobcats.
During his three seasons in Sacramento, he averaged 7 points, 1.5 assists and 1.1 rebounds. The team bought out his contract in February 2014. Fredette would go on to play for the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns. Most recently, he played in China for the Shanghai Sharks.
