Jordi Fernandez, Sacramento Kings associate head coach, joined Cattles and Ramie Friday to talk about last Wednesday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the physicality of postseason basketball and more.

Additional topics discussed include:

  • What went into the decision to play starters in the recent Dallas Mavericks loss
  • Do the players want to sit the last two games?
  • If a player is on a heater like Kyrie Irving was in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s game, what goes into the defensive adjustments the team has to make?
  • Being able to bounce back quickly after losses and not having extended losing streaks this past season
  • If he’s confident that the team will respond to the physical nature of the postseason
  • “One thing they’ve done is always respond, and the way you learn is going through the process, and every time we’ve had the chance, these guys find a way, sometimes it’s not pretty, but you know, I think the New Orleans [game] was an example of us playing like a playoff team for 48 minutes on both ends of the floor. And you can see that we’re capable of doing it.”
  • Can Kings fans expect to see more of Alex Len in the playoffs?
