Kenny Thomas says the Kings are leading the series because ‘they’re playing great basketball’

NBC Sports California analyst and former Sacramento Kings forward Kenny Thomas joined the Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Wednesday to discuss Draymond Green’s suspension, why fans can’t look past the Warriors even with a 2-0 series lead and more.
“The Kings have worked hard to get back to the position that they’re in, so why not just give the Kings credit? Why does it have to come with something,” Thomas said. “Obviously, the Kings have been a better team. They kept the Warriors to less than 110 points and at the same time, there’s a lot of things that could have went wrong in that situation [with Green and Domantas Sabonis]. Because, I was holding my breath, and then we found out about Domas that it’s nothing serious because obviously, he’s a key component and that’s why the Kings are up. That’s one of the reasons. And then you got Mitchell coming in and playing solid defense and knocking down big shots. It has nothing else to do with anything else besides the Kings playing great basketball and the organization is turning itself around.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Why the Kings have a lead in the series against the Warriors
- What he saw when Domantas Sabonis and Draymond Green collided in the fourth quarter of Game 2
- If grabbing Green’s leg was a dirty move by Sabonis
- How do the Kings take advantage of Green not playing in Game 3?
- “I could see HB having a great game. Just wait until Keegan comes out…”
- The vibe similarities of the old Arco Arena and the Golden 1 Center
