Topics discussed include:

  • The last time the team got this much rest in between games.
  • Thoughts on Coach Mike Brown’s recent award from the National Basketball Coaches Association and Neemias Queta being selected for All-NBA G-League First Team and All-Defensive Team.
  • Playing limited minutes in the final two games of the regular season
  • If the coaches and roster are back mentally to where they need to be before Saturday’s game against the Warriors
  • How the team can be more physical with the Warriors without fouls piling up
  • “Let’s be honest here, the Warriors have seen everything. They’ve seen every type of defense, they’ve played at the highest level of basketball against the best players. So we’re going to go into the series and do anything they haven’t seen before. We’re not going to be more physical than teams have been in the past, but we can give them a different look. You have to bring the physicality, you have to be able to match their pace.”
  • Is it fair for outsiders to have doubts in this Kings team?
  • What have Mike Brown and assistant coaches Luke Loucks and Leandro Barbosa told the Kings about the Warriors?
  • “There’s little things that they’ve seen firsthand that has made this super successful, that, it’s one of those conversations where ‘hey, if we don’t let them do this or if we don’t let them get to this or if we try to take away this, then hey, this team isn’t nearly as good, so let’s try to do that.’ So there’s little things. This team is very beatable. It’s a team that’s won at a high level in the past but they’re beatable just like anybody else.”
  • How the Kings plan to counter the mental warfare of the playoffs.
