We’re halfway through the month, which means March Madness 2024 is right around the corner. And not too long after the tournament begins, millions of brackets will be busted.

With so much action over the next three weeks, here’s everything you need to know.

What is Selection Sunday?

This is when we learn which 68 college basketball teams are bracket-bound. Selection Sunday begins at 3 p.m. PST across CBS and ESPN with the men’s bracket first, followed by the women’s bracket at 5 p.m. PST.

How many teams play in the tournament?

Both the men’s and women’s tournaments feature 68 teams. Those then get whittled down throughout March until the Final Four.

Second-round play begins on Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24. Then we move on to the Sweet 16 — March 28 and 29 — and then the Elite Eight — March 30 and 31.

The Final Four tips off on Saturday, April 6, with the championship game on Monday, April 8.
