Ahead of the team’s trip to Salt Lake City, Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer Mark Jones joined the Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Friday to talk about how he’s preparing for All-Star weekend, how he splits his time between Kings and ESPN broadcasts, his love for working in Sacramento, and much more.

“It’s so crazy that it becomes fun and you just kind of stay in the moment and roll with it,” Mark Jones said on The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Friday. “I work for the Sacramento Kings, I work for ESPN. I’ve always felt like a global citizen of the NBA and I love all my brothers and sisters within the NBA family. It’s hard to draw hard and fast lines of allegiance when you just connect with good people. You want everyone to do well.”

Topics discussed include:

  • How hectic is it during the NBA All-Star weekend?
  • How does he manage working for ESPN and the Sacramento Kings?
  • Who has he run into so far in Utah?
  • Why Mark feels grateful to represent Sacramento and the Kings
  • If he plans to mention the Sacramento Kings on broadcasts this weekend
  • How Mark keeps track of all the NBA players
  • What makes him different from current announcers
