Matt Maiocco says the major question mark for the 49ers is the quarterback position

NBC Sports California 49ers’ insider Matt Maiocco joined Deuce & Mo Wednesday to talk about the San Francisco 49ers, an update on Brock Purdy’s injury, and how the 2023 NFL Combine has been thus far. Plus, why San Francisco would need to make the first move if they wanted to bring Tom Brady out of retirement.
“The one thing that I do feel confident in saying is: If the 49ers, or if there was any chance of the 49ers and Tom Brady getting together, it would have to come 100% from the 49ers,” Maiocco said on the show Wednesday. “Because I’ve been told that Brady has kind of put himself out there a couple of times previously to come to the 49ers, his hometown team, and he’s been given the Heisman in the past. So he’s not going to put himself in that position where he’s like ‘hey I’m thinking about coming back, what do you think?’ It would have to be the 49ers making a strong push to get Tom Brady.”
