All athletic events will be on pause for the foreseeable future, which is a tough pill to swallow for sports fans around the world.
While this may be a rough time for Oakland Athletics fans, we can look back on some good times while we wait for baseball to make its return.
May 26, 2018: A’s 3, Diamonbacks 0
Oakland Athletics starter Daniel Mengden had quite the performance two years ago today when he delivered a complete game shutout against the Arizona Diamondbacks at The Coliseum.
The second complete game shut out of his career, Mengden struck out five batters while only allowing two hits and no walks over nine innings of work.
Oakland’s offense would be paced by home runs from Matt Joyce, Matt Olson and Chad Pinder to give the A’s a 3-0 lead–the eventual final score. With the win, Oakland brought their record to 27-25 on the season.
