The 49ers have made a lot of enemies over the years, especially in the NFC West. As a result, some of those enemies believe they have found San Francisco’s weaknesses, including Patrick Peterson.
The former Arizona Cardinals cornerback said on The All Things Covered podcast that the Red & Gold run a good offense, but that he has picked up a few things over the years. And he plans to exploit those weaknesses on Sunday as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“There is some tell signs out there that tells us what plays we’re gonna get from those guys in certain situations,” Peterson said on the show.

Signing with the Black & Gold in the spring, the longtime Cardinal has recorded 28 interceptions against the 49ers. Playing against them for the first time since 2021, the secondary veteran predicts another pick coming his way in the near future.
“When I get my pick Sunday we’ll talk about it,” Peterson said with a smirk.
Meanwhile, San Francisco is getting ready for their clash in Week 1, anticipating a tough battle on the road. What they haven’t been laser-focused on though is Peterson’s comments, with quarterback Brock Purdy unaware of his remarks.
Despite that, the humble gunslinger gave props to the former All-Pro, watching Peterson play growing up in Arizona.
“We’ll See.”

“Yeah, I don’t really know what to say about that,” Purdy said Thursday. “I mean, he’s a good player. Patrick Peterson’s a great player. I grew up watching him and everything. Obviously, being from Arizona, he played for the Cardinals and stuff.”
But when asked about giving up his first INT in 2023, the QB grinned, fired up from the competitive spirit of the vet.
“So yeah, it’s the competitive nature I guess of football. So, we’ll see,” Purdy stated.
