With the 2024 NFL season winding down, it was only right that Patrick Willis saw his name advance to the final round of this year’s Hall of Fame Class.
The former San Francisco 49ers linebacker was named one of 15 modern-era finalists for the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame class Wednesday. This is Willis’ third time making it the final round, doing so the last two years.
While the committee has narrowly kept him out of Canton for now, many feel this is the year he makes the cut.

Willis spent his entire eight-year career with the Red & Gold, becoming one of the hardest-hitting middle linebackers to play the sport. He finished his career with 950 total tackles, 20.5 sacks, 60 TFLs, 41 QB hits and 53 passes defended. Throw in eight INTs and two touchdowns, Willis was a man on a mission during his NFL tenure, making the Pro Bowl seven times.
Patrick Willis is the only former 49er to make the final 15, with former wide receiver Anquan Boldin and running back Ricky Watters left off the list for now.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame will make one final cutdown from 15 to seven modern-era members in the coming weeks. Then, the official class of 2024 will be revealed on Feb. 8th as part of the NFL Honors telecast.
