The 39th pick in last month’s draft has been inked to a two-way contract
The Sacramento Kings announced on Sunday that they have signed center Neemias Queta to a two-way contract.
With the signing of the 39th pick in last month’s NBA Draft, the Kings have now signed both Queta and 9th overall pick Davion Mitchell to contracts.
Queta, 22, averaged 14.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.3 blocks per game for Utah State last season while claiming his second Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award. The junior finished his college career with a 59-percent mark from the field and a 64-percent clip from the free-throw line.
By adding Queta and ninth-overall pick Davion Mitchell, the Kings have added a strong on-ball defender in Mitchell (1.9 steals per game; Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year) and strong rim protector to bolster the defensive presence of a Kings team that ranked dead last in defensive rating in 2020-21.
On a two-way contract, Queta can now split time between Sacramento and G-League affiliate Stockton where he will undoubtedly get plenty of action at the center spot under head coach Bobby Jackson.
