2024 NFL Free Agency may be starting next week, but the 49ers are already getting to work with Colton McKivitz news.
The San Francisco 49ers right tackle has reportedly signed a 1-year, $7 million contract extension. Per his agency, AMDG Sports, the deal includes guarantees up to 65%.
His agency was the first to report the deal Friday. The 49ers have not confirmed the news at this time.

Colton McKivitz, 27, was drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has come through the ranks in his first few seasons, becoming the starting right tackle after Mike McGlinchey departed in 2023.
The West Virginia alum took advantage of the opportunity, posting a 65.1 Pro Football Focus grade in the regular season. He also featured in every game for the Red & Gold in 2023, a marker of consistency for the player.
McKivitz wasn’t perfect however, giving up the fourth-most sacks for the position at nine. Alongside right guard Spencer Burford, the right side of the offensive line struggled in the Super Bowl, allowing quarterback Brock Purdy to get hit a plethora of times.
Despite the pros and cons, SF felt his first season as a starter was good enough for an extension. The deal keeps in with the Red & Gold until 2026.
Colton McKivitz signed a two-year, $4.61 million deal prior to last season.
