Roger Craig, George Seifert among semifinalists for 2024 Hall of Fame class

The San Francisco 49ers could have more former members in the hall of fame next year, with three more listed as nominees Wednesday.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced 60 semifinal nominees for the 2024 class. The list comprises of 31 semifinalists in the Senior category, and 29 persons in the Coach/Contributor category. Among the list of players & coaches are a few former 49ers, including running back Roger Craig.
Craig, 63, played for the Red & Gold for eight seasons (1983-1990), becoming the first NFL player to total 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. A three-time Super Bowl champion, Roger Craig accumulated more than 7000 rushing yards and 66 total touchdowns for the Niners. He also played for the Los Angeles Raiders and Minnesota Vikings before hanging it up following the 1993 season.
Only three senior players can be inducted into the 2024 hall of fame class.

Amongst the coaches, George Seifert was named a semifinalist Wednesday.
Seifert, 83, was the head coach of the 49ers for eight seasons, leading them to two Super Bowl wins in 1989 and 1994. The Utah alum has an overall record of 98-30 with San Francisco, including 10 wins in the postseason. He also coached for the Carolina panthers for three seasons.
Former 49ers executive John McVay was also named a semifinalist. McVay spent 21 years with the team after joining as the director of player personnel. He oversaw all five Super Bowl victories as vice president/director of football operations.
Other notable entries include Bay Area native Mike Holmgren, and Mike Shanahan, father of current 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan. Unfortunately, only one from this category will become a finalist for the 2024 class.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Coach/Contributor Committee reduced the list of candidates to 29. The group includes George Seifert, John McVay, Mike Holmgren and Mike Shanahan. Only one from this category will advance to become a finalist for the Class of 2024.
