It was Homecoming at Sac State this weekend and Hornets football gave everyone a little something extra to celebrate.
The Hornets defeated the #14 Idaho Vandals 31-28 to remain unbeaten, extending their winning streak to eight games this season. But the team needed a fourth-quarter comeback and a big defensive stop to get there.
When the Vandals took a 28-24 lead in the fourth quarter, Hornets quarterback Asher O’Hara and running backs Cameron Skattebo and Marcus Fulcher led the team on a 75-yard drive to push the score in their favor. The three players who led the winning drive totaled 300 rushing yards for the day.
Idaho had a chance to tie with a field goal or win, but on fourth down, the Hornets sacked Vandals quarterback Gevani McCoy to secure the win.
