The Sacramento Kings announced the dates of four preseason games ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The Kings will play two games at home and two games on the road. The team opens its preseason schedule on Monday, Oct. 3, against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Kings wrap up their preseason with a home game against the Lakers, too, on Friday, Oct. 14.

The Kings then face off against the Portland Trailblazers for their first home preseason game on Sunday, Oct. 9, then head to Phoenix on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Ticket information for all Kings home preseason games will be available towards the end of August.

The NBA is taking its preseason abroad this year. The Warriors and Wizards are facing off in Tokyo, the Bucks and Hawks are meeting in Abu Dhabi, and multiple teams are participating in the Canada Series. During the regular season, the Bulls and Pistons will go head-to-head in Paris.

The Kings hope to break a 16-season playoff drought this season. Following their off-season, fans believe this is the year it can happen. The Kings drafted Keegan Murray with the number four pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Murray would eventually be named NBA Summer League MVP after averaging 23.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in summer league play.

Once free agency kicked off, the Kings announced the signing of Malik Monk. The Kings then traded Maurice Harkless and Justin Holiday and a protected draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Kevin Huerter.
