At Friday’s playoff rally, the Sacramento Kings announced plans to close a portion of L Street and turn it into a watch party for fans to watch Games 1 and 2.
The team is inviting fans to Section 916, a free outdoor watch party area on L Street between 5th and 6th Streets to watch the Kings take on the Warriors in round one of the NBA playoffs. The team will take over the three giant screens and show the game with food trucks.

Items not allowed inside include: lawn/folding chairs of any kind, coolers, and outside food and drinks. The Golden 1 Center’s bag policy and prohibited items list also apply to Section 916, too.

Along with Section 916, fans can also check out the Kings Playoffs Playground at Ali Youssefi Square near the intersection of K and 7th Streets in Sacramento before or after the game.
“This free fan zone will provide guests the opportunity to test their basketball skills, create a one-of-a-kind commemorative action figure of themselves in Kings gear, take a photo with the famed 6th Man Statue (formerly located at ARCO Arena), capture a video of themselves lighting the beam and make a custom cheer card,” the team said in a press release. “Select Playoffs merchandise will also be available for purchase. A game ticket is not required for entry into the Playoffs Playground, which will be open from 12-8 p.m. on game days, both home and away, with additional dates added at the discretion of the team.”
