Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé joined Carmichael Dave for an exclusive sit-down on Tuesday to discuss the team’s impressive six-game winning streak, share how ‘The Beam’ idea came to fruition, and much more.

YouTube video

Ranadivé on the six-game winning streak:

“It’s still very early in the season, but I’m obviously delighted and thrilled…What I see, is something special right now.”

Ranadivé on the fan reaction ‘The Beam’:

“It’s incredible. We have the world’s best fans and they embrace victory, they embrace winning, they embrace the Kings. I would like to say that I’m surprised, but I’m not surprised because of our incredible fanbase.”

Vivek Ranadivé on handling criticism from the media and fans:

“I think that basically the fact that we get all of this criticism, to me that represents passion. I love it. You’re passionate. That means that you care. As a team owner, what’s the number one thing that I want? I want people to care. So yeah, we need to be better. Look, we inherited a difficult situation, we had some bad luck, and then we made mistakes.

“So, we have to learn and get better from those mistakes. To me, it shows that people care, it shows passion. It shows you care, I care, I think that there is so much good that comes from it. We have done a lot of good from it, and you can take solace from the good that you have done with it. Everything else, if you want to be one of the few owners in the world, you have to wear your big boy pants and deal with that.”
