NBA legend turned TV analyst Charles Barkley gave a special shout-out to the Sacramento Kings while participating in the star-studded American Century Golf Classic in Tahoe on Friday.

KCRA 3’s Michelle Dapper caught up with Barkley and WWE wrestler The Miz just off the green while live on the news at noon.

“Y’all got cable in Sacramento?” Barkley joked. “First of all, shout-out to the Kings. You guys were flat-out awesome this year.”

He mentioned coach Mike Brown being named coach of the year and paid tribute to Domantas Sabonis, De’Aaron Fox and Keegan Murray. Speaking live just after playing in the sun, he could be forgiven for flubbing Fox’s first name while calling him “awesome.”

Barkley said of the Kings, “They got something great, and the NBA is better when Sacramento does well.”

Meanwhile, The Miz joked that he and Barkley were the “most must-see tag team out here” at the celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood Golf Course.

Other celebrities at the event through Sunday include Steph Curry, Dylan Dreyer, Patrick Mahomes, Vince Carter, Jerry Rice, Aaron Rodgers, Ray Romano, Annika Sorenstam, CC Sabathia and more.
