Domantas Sabonis now holds the record for the longest single season double-double streak in franchise history.

During the third quarter of Tuesday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, Sabonis tallied 18 points, ten rebounds, and eight assists, extending his streak to 47 games.

Jerry Lucas, who played for the franchise from 1963-69 when the team was the Cincinnati Royals, previously held the record at 46 games, which came during the 1967-68 season. The top four longest in-season streaks in franchise history are now:

  • Domantas Sabonis: 47
  • Jerry Lucas: 46
  • Jerry Lucas: 30
  • Oscar Robertson: 29

This isn’t the first record Domantas Sabonis has broken in his short tenure with the Sacramento Kings. Last season, with a fractured right thumb, the Kings’ center ended the year with the most triple-doubles (14) and the most double-doubles (65) in a single season in the Sacramento era.

What is the record for the longest in-season double-double steak?

Now that he has broken the Sacramento Kings franchise record, Domantas Sabonis needs only five more games to break the NBA’s longest in-season double-double streak.

During the 2010-11 season, Kevin Love recorded 53 straight double-doubles as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento will continue its six-game homestand on Wednesday night when they complete a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Los Angeles (36-30) is currently hot on the Kings’ tails in the Western Conference playoff race, although Sacramento holds a 3-0 record in the head-to-head season series against their old rival.

De’Aaron Fox’s career-high-tying 44-point performance on March 6th led the Kings to a 130-120 win over the Lakers at crypto.com Arena in a game that started with Sacramento falling behind by 19 points during the first quarter.
