Former Sacramento King Kenny Thomas joined “The Drive Guys” Tuesday to talk about the team’s season so far, how Keegan Murray is growing in his second season, and more.
After a slow start to the season, the sophomore King has scored 24 and 25 points in the last two games. If he continues to play like this, while defending the opponent’s best players, Thomas said Keegan Murray could be on his way to becoming the second-best player on the team.
“I like how Keegan is attacking the basket, which is what [coach] Mike Brown’s been kind of trying to instill with him, to be more aggressive,” Thomas said. “Keegan’s been doing it, he’s putting the ball on the floor, mixing it up [with a] mid-range [jumper], and attacking the basket.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Did losing De’Aaron Fox early in the season help the Kings become a better team?
- Seeing the franchise get back into the postseason
- The secret to rebounding in the NBA
- His favorite memory as an NBA player
