Hunter Patterson, who covers the Sacramento Kings for The Athletic, joined The Drive Guys Wednesday afternoon to discuss the Kings’ continued up-and-down performances, the importance of avoiding the play-in tournament, and more.

The trio began their discussion by attempting to identify the root cause of Sacramento’s quarter-to-quarter inconsistencies, with losses to the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls mixed with wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets post-All-Star Break.

Hunter Patterson expressed the importance of avoiding the play-in and what they could clean up in order to continue climbing the standing in the final 21 games of the 2023-24 NBA season.

And plenty of other great conversation between Hunter Patterson, Whitey Gleason, and Kyle Draper revolving around the Sacramento Kings.

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento will return home on Thursday to play the second game of a back-to-back against rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs (13-49), the owner of the worst record in the Western Conference.

On February 22nd, the Kings outlasted a late push from San Antonio to claim a 127-122 win at Golden 1 Center behind Domantas Sabonis’ triple-double (22 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists) and a 28-point effort from De’Aaron Fox.

Sacramento’s game against the Spurs will mark the start of a six-game homestand, as the Kings will play 14 of their final 22 contests on their own floor.
