Sacramento Republic FC owner Kevin Nagle joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Friday to help preview the team’s matchup on Saturday, Aug. 26, against the Orange County SC.
But there’s something special about this game, it’ll be played at Hughes Stadium in Land Park. Why there? It’s where Sac Republic started, back in 2014 to a sold-out crowd of 20,000 fans. Nagle said he expects the crowd to fill to capacity again.
“It’s going to be a great event. Orange County is playing the best soccer in the entire league,” Nagle said. “We’re in for a fight tomorrow night and I think it’s going to be a great match… I’m really excited.”
For those unable to attend but still want to watch, the game will be broadcast in English and Spanish on FOX40, FOX40.com and the FOX40 News mobile app, as well as streaming on ESPN+.
Additional topics discussed include:
- How the Republic fare in the standings
- Becoming involved with Huddersfield Town A.F.C. in England
- Continue to be in conversation with MLS and the latest updates with new investors
- Building a USL stadium is still on the board with a seating capacity between 15,000 and 20,000
