The Sacramento Kings confirmed Thursday night that guard Chris Duarte suffered a “moderate ankle sprain” during the team’s warmups against the Detroit Pistons.

He has already been listed as out against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. The team also said he’ll be re-evaluated in seven to 14 days.

Through 36 games, Chris Duarte is averaging 3.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, and just under one assist. As a backup, he’s playing about 13 minutes a game.

Sacramento will begin a brutal portion of its regular season schedule on Friday night when they face the defending champion Denver Nuggets at Golden 1 Center.
