The Sacramento Kings have some fond playoff memories of games that took place on April 20th
All athletic events will be on pause for the foreseeable future, which is a tough pill to swallow for sports fans around the world.
While this may be a rough time for Sacramento Kings fans, we can look back on some good times while we wait for basketball to make its return.
April 20, 2004 – NBA Western Conference First Round
Kings 83, Mavericks 79
Tied up at 79-79, Brad Miller drained a mid-range jumper to give the Sacramento Kings a two-point lead over the Dallas Mavericks with 34.1 seconds remaining.
After Dallas squandered a chance to tie the game, Chris Webber went to the line looking to seal the game. He would miss both free-throws, giving the Mavericks a chance to tie or go ahead with 19 seconds left.
Out of the timeout, Peja Stojakovic forced a turnover that was followed by a foul to send Doug Christie to the line, giving the Kings a chance to put the game away.
Christie sank both free-throws to give the Kings a 83-79 win over Dallas, taking a 2-0 series lead in the first round of playoff action.
Mike Bibby finished with 24 points, while Chris Webber scored 19 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Peja Stojakovic and Doug Christie chipped in with 13 points each in the victory.
April 20, 2002: NBA Western Conference First Round
Kings 89, Jazz 86
Chris Webber had a big game for the Sacramento Kings in their playoff opener, scoring 24 points to go along with 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Kings held on to beat the Utah Jazz by a final of 89-86.
Leading 88-86 with 7.6 seconds left, Webber hit one of two free-throws to give Sacramento a three-point advantage.
Jazz forward Scott Padgett missed a three-pointer for the tie, giving the Kings a Game 1 victory at Arco Arena.
Mike Bibby scored 20 points and dished six assists, while Doug Christie scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win. Peja Stojakovic chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds, as Vlade Divac contributed with eight rebounds of his own.
