Early Monday morning, the Sacramento Kings completed their fourth free agency deal of opening day, signing point guard Cory Joseph, formally of the Indiana Pacers, to a three-year, $37 million deal.
As Amick reported, in order to sign Joseph, the Kings rescinded their qualifying offer and cap hold for Willie Cauley-Stein.
Joseph, a defensive-first point guard, averaged 6.5 points, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals a night last season with Indiana, while shooting just 32% from three-point range.
The Kings and Joseph will officially sign the contract on July 6th.
