Help is on the way for the Sacramento Kings.
After four Kings players had reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past month, three of those players have been cleared to rejoin the team in practices as of Sunday afternoon.
Kings center Alex Len was cleared to rejoin team workouts on Sunday, per Jason Jones of The Athletic.
Len joins Buddy Hield and Jabari Parker as the three Kings players that have passed the NBA’s safety protocols and been cleared to resume team activites.
Small-forward Harrison Barnes has not yet been cleared to travel to Florida, according to head coach Luke Walton.
Back in February, the Kings made a trade with the Atlanta Hawks that sent center Dewayne Dedmon to Atlanta in exchange for Len and Parker. Since the trade, Len has provided a big boost off of the bench for the Kings, averaging 6.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game over nine contests.
Walton stated on Sunday that Len will be brought along slowly, noting that the 27 year-old hadn’t been able to do much conditioning and strength training during his time recovering from the coronavirus.
Sacramento will begin its scrimmage slate this week, starting with Wednesday at 5:00pm PST against the Miami Heat.
