Deebo Samuel is the latest San Francisco 49ers player to be recognized for an outstanding performance.

The NFL announced Wednesday morning its players of the week, with Samuel being named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week with his big game against Philadelphia.

By the end of the 49ers’ 42-19 rout over the Eagles, Samuel had three total touchdowns on four receptions, 116 receiving yards and 22 rushing yards. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honors for Deebo Samuel this season, but his third total in his career.

With the honor, Samuel becomes only the second San Francisco 49ers wide receiver to be named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week at least three times. Hall of Famer Jerry Rice holds the record, being honored 12 times.

This is the sixth Player of the Week honors awarded to a 49ers player this season. Funny enough though, no player has repeated the honors. Brandon Aiyuk, Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy join Samuel on the offensive side to be recognized. Fred Warner and Nick Bosa have been awarded for their defensive efforts.

The NFC also recognized Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. as the Defensive Player of the Week and Detroit Lions linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin as the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
