The San Francisco 49ers are filling its Arik Armstead-sized hole with a former Buffalo Bill.
According to multiple reports, defensive end Leonard Floyd and the 49ers have agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that $12 million of the deal is guaranteed.
The team has not yet announced the move.
The 31-year-old defensive end was selected ninth overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft. In eight seasons with the Bears, Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills, Floyd has recorded 58 sacks, 370 tackles, seven fumble recoveries, two interceptions and one touchdown.
Just before the NFL’s legal tampering period began, reports surfaced that the 49ers plan to release Armstead after the two sides failed to agree on a restructured contract for next season.
