A day removed from the Sacramento Kings 143-131 victory over the Washington Wizards, Frankie Cartoscelli and I (Brenden Nunes) discussed the breakout performance of Keegan Murray, recent trade rumor reports, their All-Stars consistently excelling, and more on the latest episode of the Return of the Roar podcast.
We began by breaking down Murray’s historic 12/15 from three performance en route to 47 points against the Utah Jazz Saturday night, for obvious reasons. Does it change our perspective on Murray’s NBA ceiling? Are we talking about a player the caliber of Tobias Harris, Khris Middleton, or maybe even Paul George?
It helps that he followed up that performance with a solid showing against Washington, tallying 25 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Naturally, that led to trade discussions due to Keegan Murray having been mentioned a few times recently with most reporting claiming that the Kings have no intent of trading the second-year forward.
So, who are reasonable candidates Sacramento could target if he’s off the table? Sam Amick of The Athletic recently mentioned that Chicago Bulls wing Zach LaVine would be open to playing alongside De’Aaron Fox in California’s capital. Frankie and I presented a potential trade package, debating its potential benefits and shortcomings.
Other topics discussed include:
- Updates regarding Sacramento’s interest in Toronto Raptors players OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, who they have been linked to in the past
- Who are some players that Keegan Murray could potentially be in trade discussions for?
- How a trade could impact their chance of re-signing Malik Monk this offseason
- The stellar player of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis in 2023-24
- And plenty more
When is the next Sacramento Kings game?
Sacramento will continue its six-game home stand on Wednesday night against a Boston Celtics team that has looked like an NBA Finals favorite so far this season.
Boston will be on the second night of a back-to-back after facing the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco on Tuesday night.
