The Sacramento Kings head coach’s recent ejection and following postgame comments took the NBA world by storm. On Tuesday, the NBA announced that Mike Brown was fined $50,000 for that incident.

Memes flew around after he brought a laptop to his postgame press conference to show where his frustration lay. Here is the statement released by the NBA:

“Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown has been fined $50,000 for aggressively pursuing a game official during live play, and for publicly criticizing the officiating, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.”

“Brown’s actions took place during and after the Kings’ 143-142 overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Jan. 14 at Fiserv Forum.”

For reference, Darko Rajakovic, head coach of the Toronto Raptors, was recently fined $25,000 for his postgame comments criticizing the officiating during their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Also, Mike Brown was fined $25,000 last season for “aggressively pursuing and directing profane language toward a game official.”

Given those prior reasonings, Brown likely received double the amount of Rajakovic because of his on-court approach towards the refs and the following postgame comments.

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento’s five-game road trip will come to an end on Tuesday night when the Kings face the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Center.

The Kings claimed the first two meetings of this Pacific Division showdown, although Sacramento has yet to face the Suns at full strength with its ‘Big 3’ of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker.
