The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” on Thursday morning to discuss the Sacramento Kings’ recent two-game win streak, potential playoff matchups and more.
A day removed from an impressive 35-point win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, the Kings followed that up with a win over the Lakers, completing the season sweep of Los Angeles.
As of Thursday morning, the Sacramento Kings now sit in the sixth seed of the Western Conference, three and a half games behind the fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers. With their recent strong play, Amick believes the Beam Team is trending toward being the team to avoid in the playoffs.
“That’ll be the narrative, which is fine… To the fans, I would say just try and enjoy it. Don’t forget, 16 years man that they weren’t in the playoffs. Most seasons you could stop paying attention in December,” Amick said.
Additional topics discussed include:
- The details of his one-on-one conversation with Giannis Antetokounmpo
- It shouldn’t be hard for the Kings to finish strong going into the playoffs
- His message to Kings’ fans in the stretch run of the season
- The rise of Keon Ellis and what he’s done in the lineup
- If it is likely Bronny James declares for the NBA Draft this year and LeBron decides to play with his son
- Has Anthony Davis taken the mantle of leading the Lakers?
- Does Domantas Sabonis have any chance of getting top-five MVP votes?
