Johnson, 63, played 17 seasons in the NBA from 1981 to 1999 for the Kings, Seattle SuperSonics, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, and Charlotte Hornets. The 6’7 wing secured the Sixth Man of the Year award during the 1988-89 season while playing for the Suns.

Over six seasons with the Kings, Johnson averaged 18.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 483 games.

The Kings drafted Johnson with the 29th overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft, as the Illinois product started his career with the Kansas City Kings.
