The reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors will make the hour-plus trip to Sacramento this weekend as they will face the Kings in Game 1 of the Playoffs on Saturday afternoon.
Golden State is no stranger to postseason basketball, as they have secured four NBA championships over the past eight seasons while winning 18-straight Western Conference Playoff series. If Sacramento is going to dethrone the Warriors, it will take a lot of poise from a team with little-to-no postseason experience.
Veteran forward Draymond Green previewed the upcoming series against the Kings on the latest edition of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, and the longtime Warrior highlighted Sacramento’s glaring absence of experience.
“It’s going to be a tough matchup… It’ll be tough. I’m looking forward to it. You want to get these games done as fast as you can. I would love to get it done in four, maybe five [games]. Very hard to do that, but that’s ideally what you always want to try to do. [Sacramento] is a team, a young team that doesn’t have much playoff experience.
You want to pounce on that right away. You don’t want to let them get hope, start getting more experience, and start believing. You want to instill doubt right away. As much as you can, instill doubt immediately. That has to be our goal going in. That will be our goal, and I have no doubt that we can get that done.”

You can listen to Green’s comments on the Kings vs. Warriors Playoff series at the 23:58 mark.
Green went on to say pay his respects to Kings head coach Mike Brown, who was on Golden State’s coaching staff from 2016-2022 where he was the architect behind the Warriors’ respected defense.
The 33-year-old. also talked about De’Aaron Fox’s progress as a leader and talked about the aspect of how short the travel will be for each team when on the road.
Golden State will face the Kings in the NBA Playoffs for the first time ever in a matchup that will feature two teams that have been on separate paths for over a decade.
Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs will take place at 5:30 PM PST on Saturday evening at Golden 1 Center in what will be Sacramento’s first postseason appearance in 17 years.
