Have the Kings turned a corner on the defensive side of the ball? Jerry Reynolds certainly thinks so.
Sacramento Kings Icon, Jerry Reynolds, joined The Drive Guys Tuesday to talk about the Kings’ recent emphasis on defense and where it’s coming from. Plus, thoughts on the potential return of Sasha Vezenkov, and how Jerry sees the western conference standings shaking out. Finally, is Keon Ellis the missing piece to a solid defensive unit?
All that and more on Sactown Sports.
“He’s one of those guys that can guard, certainly on switches, he can guard just about anybody,” Jerry Reynolds said Jon the show Tuesday. “I mean, he’s very comfortable guarding ones or twos. Up to 6’5″-6’6″, he has no problem with that. And the other part is, I think he’s not just a good individual defender, but he has a real sense of team defense. And he’s really great at help [defense]…He’s kind of a smaller version of Michael Cooper, in my mind.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Should Keon Ellis be in the starting lineup?
- How does Sasha Vezenkov slot into the team when he returns?
- Jerry’s thoughts on where the Kings currently stand?
- A short story on John Mellencamp
- Can Sacramento make the sixth-seed in the west?
