The Sacramento Kings continue to push for the NBA Playoffs, although a few key pieces will miss some time due to injury.
NBC Sports California analyst Kayte Christensen joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Wednesday morning to talk about Keon Ellis’ emergence in the rotation, break down what makes Ellis effective in the lineup, and much more.
Plus: Kayte says that the officiating during Sacramento’s loss to the New York Knicks was “the worst officiated game that she has ever seen.”
Topics Discussed
- Kayte says that although the Raptors have struggled and will be shorthanded, the Kings can’t let their guard down.
- Starting guard Kevin Huerter will miss some time due to a dislocated left shoulder, although there is currently no clarity on a timetable.
- Kayte says she’s curious to see how Mike Brown navigates the loss of Huerter and Trey Lyles, who is sidelined with an MCL sprain.
- Sacramento is starting its first of two remaining East-coast road trips with three weeks remaining in the regular season
- What has Kayte liked the most about Keon Ellis’ game?
- “I just love his defense. Love, love, love his defense… He allows De’Aaron [Fox] to take a step and defend somebody else… He’s going to have a consistent approach and be tough the entire time.”
- Kayte says the Kings’ loss to the Knicks was the “worst officiated game she has ever seen.”
- “The way the [officials] let the game get out of control is how people get hurt.”
- Christensen says it was “a complete and utter failure” on the officials’ part
