According to James Ham of The Kings Beat, the Sacramento Kings will not extend a qualifying offer to guard Donte DiVincenzo, making the guard an unrestricted free agent once the NBA free agency negotiation window begins on Thursday at 3:00 pm PST.

DiVincenzo, 25, will now be able to sign with any team he chooses in free agency. The Kings will not have the ability to match offers for the NCAA and NBA champion guard.

After acquiring DiVincenzo during a three-way deadline deal with the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons, it’s become clear that Kings general manager Monte McNair has his eyes set on targets outside of the Villanova product.

Shortly following the news that Sacramento will not offer DiVincenzo the qualifying offer, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report shared that there is mutual interest between the Kings and guard Malik Monk.

As we move into free agency, expect plenty of rumors to pop up regarding Sacramento’s plans as McNair attempts to build a competitive team.
