Len will join Toronto after a strong stint with Sacramento
Free-agent center Alex Len has reached an agreement with the Toronto Raptors, according to Shams Charania of The Atheltic.
Len, who had a strong 15-game stint with Sacramento after a mid-season trade from Atlanta, averaged 5.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 59-percent from the field.
The departure of Len leaves the Kings with no backup bigs, as forward Harry Giles III departed for a deal with Portland over the weekend.
Due to the Bogdan Bogdanovic situation, Sacramento has had to wait for their financial situation to become more clear before dishing out contracts to free agents.
With Len and Giles off of the board, the Kings have little depth at the forward/center positions:
- Marvin Bagley III
- Jabari Parker
- Richaun Holmes
- Nemanja Bjelica
When free agency opened up on Friday night, there were rumors that the Kings were interested in Hassan Whiteside.
The shot-blocking seven-footer that has led the league in blocks and rebounds during his seven-year career, was drafted by Sacramento in 2010. Could a reunion be on the horizon?
Time will tell.
