This week on The Jason Ross and Doug Christie Show, newly-hired television play-by-play broadcaster Mark Jones joined the show to discuss how he became the newest voice of the Sacramento Kings.

Jones joined the show to share his enthusiasm for the new role, stating that he has been overwhelmed from the outpour of positive feedback from the fanbase.

“I’m overwhelmed by the response and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the reception level that I have gotten from the Sacramento King family and the Sacramento Kings community, the city of Sacramento and beyond. It’s really been an eye opener,” Jones said.

“I’m really grateful. It makes me even more amped and excited to begin the NBA season on December 22nd.”

Jones walked the guys through the process of getting the Kings play-by-play gig, citing that the visions and values of the franchise stood out the most when he was making his decision.

“Sacramento is a great franchise, I think that it’s a franchise that is chasing excellence. I think that from the top-down, their philosophy on winning, their philosophy in life, their philosophy on inclusiveness and diversity, just positive vibrations. It’s right in my wheelhouse,” Jones said.

“Sacramento has winning on its mind, and it would be great to be associated with that. I look forward to being apart of the chase.”
