Just over 24 hours after being named Coach of the Year by the NBA’s Coaches Association, Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown continues to rack up the accolades.
The NBA announced on Friday that Brown is one of three finalists for the Coach of the Year award, and it’s looking very likely that the first-year Kings head coach will be taking him the award in the coming weeks.

In his first year with the organization, Brown led the Kings to a top-three finish in the Western Conference standings, a record of 48-34, the team’s first Pacific Division title since 2003, and first playoff appearance since 2006.
If Brown wins the Coach of the Year award, he will become the first coach in Sacramento Kings franchise history to receive the honor since Cotton Fitzsimmons did so in 1978-79 when the franchise was located in Kansas City.
Brown previously won the award during the 2008-09 season while coaching the Cleveland Cavaliers.
