16 years ago today, the Sacramento Kings beat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs

All athletic events will be on pause for the foreseeable future, which is a tough pill to swallow for sports fans around the world.

While this may be a rough time for Sacramento Kings fans, we can look back on some good times while we wait for basketball to make its return.

April 18, 2004: Kings 116, Mavericks 105

Revenge was served 16 years ago today when the Sacramento Kings defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs first round by a final of 116-105.

Sacramento was eliminated by Dallas in the second round of the 2003 NBA Playoffs in a hard fought seven-game series

Peja Stojakovic was the leading scorer for the Kings, finishing with 28 points (five-of-10 from the three-point line) and eight rebounds. Chris Webber scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win.

Doug Christie flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists and two steals.

Mike Bibby chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds and seven assists in the crucial Game 1 victory, while Vlade Divac contributed 12 points in what would be his last season as a Sacramento King.
