While it may be hard to see at times, the Sacramento Kings are one of the top teams benefiting the most by late-game missed calls.

Late-game missed calls are the key phrase there. De’Aaron Fox is 16th in the league in free throw attempts (6.7) and Domantas Sabonis is 31st (5.2). As a team, the Kings are 20th in attempts per game.

But at the end of the game, Sacramento is apparently getting the benefit of the whistle.

According to data compiled by bballytics.co, the Kings have benefited from seven wrong calls in the league’s two-minute [L2Ms] report this season, the second most in the league. Only the Denver Nuggets (11) have benefited the most.

Sacramento has also been hurt by only four calls on L2Ms, which is also tied for third-best in the league with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder. Again, the Denver Nuggets take the top spot (2) and the Cleveland Cavaliers come in second with only three calls against them.

This data is only for the league’s two-minute report. Maybe Mike Brown was right to criticize officials after the Bucks loss then. He used his laptop to point out plays from the first half, which led to his ejection and eventually a $50,000 fine.

Upcoming schedule for the Sacramento Kings

  • Saturday, January 27th – Kings @ Dallas Mavericks – 6:00 PM PST
  • Monday, January 29th – Kings @ Memphis Grizzlies – 5:00 PM PST
  • Wednesday, January 31st – Kings @ Miami Heat – 4:30 PM PST
  • Friday, February 2nd – Kings @ Indiana Pacers – 4:30 PM PST
