The Sacramento Republic FC is ready to hit the pitch.
Republic FC general manager Todd Dunivant joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Friday morning to preview Saturday’s home opener against Orange County FC as the 2024 season begins.
Dunivant also made it clear that this year’s club has high expectations following last season’s playoff run:
Topics Discussed
- Are the Republic “championship or bust” this season?
- “We want those expectations every single year because that means you’re doing something right.”
- Dunvant says the goal is to win a championship: “Now it’s about getting over that hump and winning it all.”
- What lessons were learned in 2023?
- Todd says the team’s youth is “really going to step up” in 2024
- “We have such good talent in this region… We feel like we have a really good group of young guys that are going to help us this year.”
- Where do things stand with the planned Republic FC stadium?
- “It’s something that we work on every day. We firmly believe we’re going to get it done. We’re doing a ton of work on it. It’s going to happen. We’re going to make it happen.”
