It’s been a rumor-heavy week as the NBA speeds towards the February 8th trade deadline.

One of the most-talked-about players this trade season has been Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, who reportedly would not welcome a trade to the Sacramento Kings.

The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Thursday morning to relay the latest updates surrounding Sacramento’s pursuit of Siakam, breakdown the current market for the All-Star forward, and much more.

Topics Discussed

  • Sam shares what he has been covering over the past week
  • Is Darvin Ham’s job safe in Los Angeles?
  • What did Sam learn about Pascal Siakam’s future with the Raptors?
  • “The prospect of him signing an extension with the Raptors is not off the table yet.”
  • Amick says if the trade market remains stagnant, Toronto could sign Siakam or conduct a sign-and-trade this summer
  • Are the Kings out on Siakam?
  • “He’s not excited about that possible situation and would very likely not re-sign.”
  • Why is Siakam deterred from playing in Sacramento?
  • What did Toronto want in return from the Kings in a potential Raptors trade?
  • Amick says that during “significant” talks, Toronto was interested in a package that included Harrison Barnes, Kevin Huerter, and Davion Mitchell.
  • Could Sacramento revisit talks in the future, even if Siakam isn’t interested in re-signing?
  • “It’s not just the Kings… [Siakam] is not indicating that he is open to signing with any team that he is traded to.”
