Domantas Sabonis’ incredible start to his Sacramento Kings career continued on Monday night as the center posted 28 points, 23 rebounds, and seven assists against the Charlotte Hornets–the center’s third 20-20 game of the young season.
No other player in the NBA has posted 20+ points and 20+ rebounds in more than one game this season, but Sabonis has made it look easy during the first two months of play.

In fact, Sabonis is making the 20-20 stat lines a commonality, as the big man has logged four games of the kind over 44 appearances in a Kings uniform.
Since the Kings made the move to Northern California in 1985, Sabonis is already in sole possession of third place on the franchise’s Sacramento-era leaderboard of games with 20+ points and 20+ rebounds:
Sabonis has four 20-20 games over 44 appearances in Sacramento, which is incredible considering DeMarcus Cousins did so 11 times over 470 games and Chris Webber on five occasions over 370 career appearances with Sacramento.
The two-time All-Star also became just the fifth player since 1990 to score 28+ points, grab 23+ rebounds, and hand out 7+ assists in a single game, joining Nikola Jokic (2022), DeMarcus Cousins (2018), Dirk Nowitzki (2002), and Kevin Garnett (2001).
Sacramento has enjoyed a strong start to the 2022-23 season behind an All-Star-esque effort from Sabonis, who is currently averaging 18.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 62 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the three-point line.
Sabonis is on track to secure the third All-Star appearance of his career, and you can help him get there by voting at NBA.com or on the NBA app!
